Fresh Blueberry Lemonade

Fresh Blueberry Lemonade

Make Blueberry Lemonade when life offers you blueberries and lemons. Though it may seem like an unusual lemonade flavor, blueberry is actually quite delicious. Deliciously sweet and luscious due to the juicy, plump blueberries, with a delightfully zesty zing from the lemons and a beautiful freshness from the mint.

This blueberry lemonade is incredibly simple to make. Water, lemons, blueberries, sugar, and mint are required. That is all. Adjust the amount of mint and blueberries to your liking.

This is truly the ideal method for staying cool on a sweltering summer day. Naturally, you can experiment with the recipe and try different combinations of berries and herbs.

On a hot day, this simple homemade fresh blueberry lemonade is the ideal way to stay cool! The sour lemon, cool mint, and sweet blueberries give it a great deal of taste. It’s considerably better than store-bought lemonade and makes for a truly wonderful summer drink that’s lightly sweetened.

Ingredients

  • 1/2 cup or more fresh blueberries

  • 1 whole lemon, thinly sliced

  • 3 to 4 tablespoons of sugar, less or more to preference or sugar subs/alternatives

  • 5 leaves of mint

  • 2 cups ice

  • 3 cups of water or you can use carbonated water

  • 2 tablespoons lemon juice

Directions

  • Add the blueberries, sugar, two mint leaves, and three or four lemon slices to a mason jar or dish. Mash or muddle the ingredients until most of the berries are crushed.
  • If you muddled the berries in a bowl, then pour the mixture into a mason jar or a small jar. To the container, add the ice, lemon juice, and leftover mint. Shut the cover, Shake and mix until the sugar is dissolved. Pour this blueberry concoction into the serving pitcher. Add lemon slices and water or seltzer water.
  • After the fruit mixture has had some time to settle, taste it and, if necessary, modify the flavor by adding additional sugar. To enhance the sweetness, I typically like to add a small teaspoon of salt as well. After chilling, serve.
  • Store and keep chilled until serving time. Keep chilled for a maximum of two days.
